Child Care Napping Agreement and Policy

In accordance with New York State regulations




Area of the home (approved daycare space) where child will nap/rest

Areas used should be free from drafts, should not block an exit, should allow sufficient space between children and should not place the child in danger of being stepped on. The provider must have direct contact with the child. 417.70(1)-417.70(6)

Please check the following:





As per regulations, infants/children may not sleep in car seats, swings, stroller and infant bouncy seat. should a child fall asleep he/she must be moved to a crib/cot in an approved sleeping space 417.7j

As per NYS regulations, an infant will be placed on their backs to sleep, unless a note signed by the fant's doctor recommends different sleeping arrangements 417.7 (i)

As per NYS regulations, for children unable to nap, a time and space must be provided for quiet est/play. Children must not be forced to sleep or rest for long periods of time 417.7(t)


Permission to use electronic monitor for napping

I agree to allow use an electronic/visual monitor as an indirect means of supervision while my child is napping in an approved a of the home. In accordance with NYS family child care regulations, the caregiver will physically check on child every 15 minutes. The doors to all rooms will remain opened and the caregiver will remain on the e floor as the child at all times. 417.8 b (1) 417.8 b (2)
